Description
Residential Life is a Student Affairs department located within On-Campus Housing. Residential Life works closely with Housing and Hospitality Services (HHS) to provide students comfortable and convenient affordable housing and to enhance student opportunities for academic success, community building, personal growth, and leadership development.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Projects Coordinator will oversee various projects related to programmatic, administrative and policy implications within the following units of Residential Life: First Year Experience, Academics, and the residential community of over 23,000 students.
The incumbent will serve as a recognized special resource within the department and to the campus in the content areas listed above. Content assignments will be made on an annual basis as department priorities are identified.
The Projects Coordinator will implement student-focused programmatic and curricular activities that impact over 23,000 undergraduate and graduate students living in University-owned housing. They will act as a hub for activities related to the content areas including meeting management, serving as programmer and event adviser for student programmers within the assigned content area, serve on the departmental committees, and support the cross-campus initiatives such as Diverse Student Admit Weekend, Common Experience Selection, out-of-state students, large scale academic events, and hill events and meetings. The Projects Coordinator will analyze existing policy and procedure to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and consistency with departmental values and priorities related to the content areas. In addition, the incumbent will conduct research into related topics, write and present reports as well as maintain data related to content are to develop new approaches and methods for enhancing outcomes for students.
The Projects Coordinator must be able to work independently and with others to manage multiple constituents and multiple priorities. This requires effective skills in planning, organization, coordination, resource allocation, delegation, and adaptability. The ability to advise others and manage several projects requires the understanding of a dynamic environment and changing organizational context. The incumbent will have developed skills to analyze information, identify alternatives and exercise innovation with ingenuity and resourcefulness in selecting appropriate solutions or directions.

Required/Preferred
Master's degree in higher education or related field; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Working knowledge and a theoretical understanding of student development
and community development

regarding programming, event-management, and liability.
